On May 13, 2023, MariLUG brought a piece of Halifax history to life! At the Central Library – in the shadow of the real-life Halifax Citadel – members of MariLUG worked to assemble our scale LEGO® model of the city’s most important historic landmark. The LEGO Halifax Citadel measures over two metres wide and contains more than 10,000 pieces.
Did you know the outboard points of a star fort are called 'ravelins'? Neither did we, until we set out to build them!
MariLUG's Halifax Citadel build is sponsored by Molen Services. We believe renewable energy is an important part of our future, so we couldn't have asked for a better supporter!
In a true case of Citadel-ception, the LEGO Citadel is now on display within the real Citadel Hill Historic Site in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Our model is available for viewing between June and September when the Citadel is fully open for the season.
Much credit goes to the many MariLUG members who spent countless hours designing and building this model.
