In the fall of 2024, the Maritime LEGO® Users Group (MariLUG) extended an invitation for a second time to fellow LEGO enthusiasts from across Canada. The mission, once again, was to contribute to the annual 'Bricks by the Sea' exhibition soon to take place within the hallowed halls of the Natural History Museum in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The event spanned from late November 2024 to early January 2025, bringing a new suite of displays as well as a large mosaic project to the gallery. But the true focus for MariLUG's invitees was on the Christmas tree, which they had been challenged to decorate with brick-built ornaments all their own.
Our friends – and no shortage of our own members, of course – came through in spectacular style, delivering over 60 ornaments to fill our tree from top to bottom. Every ornament reflected the building style and personality of its creator, making for an incredibly diverse and captivating backdrop to the already-impressive Bricks by the Sea display.
What an amazing way to usher in a new year!
